Choose SAFER migration!

Regular migration offers a safer and more secure path to a new life abroad. Migrants following legal channels have better chances of finding decent jobs, accessing healthcare and education, and integrating in society.  In contrast irregular migration is risky and dangerous.  Migrants using smugglers face exploitation, abuse, and even death during their journey. They often end up living in poor conditions with limited rights and opportunities.

Moving to another country can be motivated by better education, jobs, and overall quality of life. It can be also a way to escape instability or disaster. However, it's Important to consider the challenges of such a move. These challenges include languages, barriers, cultural differences, cost of living, and separation from family.

Voluntary return allows irregular migrants or asylum seekers to choose to return to their countries legally, with support. This eliminates risk of irregular migration and offer potential future opportunities like applying for visas or work permits.  Many countries, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), provide logistical, financial, and reintegration assistance for those who choose this path.

Within the framework of the SAFER project, the Pervaaz Pakistan awareness campaign has been launched and will last from February 2024 to February 2025. The aim of the campaign is to provide factual and reliable information about migration and raise the young Pakistanis' awareness of the risks and dangers associated with irregular migration. Besides this platform, the campaign includes 30 community events (Pervaaz Agaahi Sessions) organised in the provinces of Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sind and Balochistan, 21 outreach awareness session conducted in vocational training institutes across the country and a media campaign disseminated through the Pervaaz Pakistan profiles on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
